Iran has seized a container ship near the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel in question appears to be the MSC Aries (flag of Portugal, but managed by a company linked to an Israeli billionaire)

What a horrificly sad day in Sydney and especially for those who have lost loved ones.

The only saving grace is the bravery and courage of so many which stopped further tragedy.

Prayers for all marked by this barbarity.

That cannot be true, since I was reliably informed that 'Green' Steel made with supercheap Hydrogen which itself will be made with super-super cheap renewables will lead to growth rates resembling an 'economic miracle' in Germany.

CHART OF THE DAY: As we wait, an update on what pays for the missiles and drones. Iranian oil output hit a fresh 5½-year high in March, according to new International Energy Agency data. Either Iran is very good at bypassing US sanctions, or those aren't enforced |

I truly amazes me how many within the green lobby are willing to overlook, minimize, and excuse the ongoing coal expansion in China.

I'm going to rebrand the 'China syndrome' as a new form of 'Stockholm syndrome.'

Well done to the USA! Not only do the idiots in the EU not even want to know if they have shale gas, but they are the biggest buyers of American shale gas, and on top of that the USA is displacing Russian gas. The US are the big winners.

Peak coal? Hmm, how to put it: no.

The world added last year ~60 GW of coal-fired power capacity, the most since 2016 (China, that green champion, accounted for more than ⅔ of the increase), according to a new report.

As promised, I wrote this for the The Daily Telegraph on the unwise and unsound nomination of Sam Mostyn to be the next Governor-General. All comments and criticisms welcome as always.

I like this take from JonPrynn about our @Opinion column on Shell and the UK equity market. And agree with him: Shell CEO Wael Sawan isn’t bluffing.
