There is nowhere to evacuate to. There is no way for Israel to invade Rafah without causing unfathomable horror and suffering. President Biden must use every tool he has to stop this.

Israel's evacuation orders to civilians in Rafah portend the worst: more war and famine. It is unacceptable.

Israel must renounce to a ground offensive and implement UNSCR 2728.

The EU, with the International Community, can and must act to prevent such scenario.

Today's forced evacuation orders in Rafah are unlawful and alarming.

The areas designated for relocation are devastated, crowded & devoid of key services. There are no assurances of safety or return once hostilities end for those forced to relocate.

The 'evacuation' of Rafah is illegal. There are no 'humanitarian' or 'safe zones.' Civilians are being forcibly displaced to areas totally unsuitable to human habitation. This is a crime against humanity.

This is absurd and you should be ashamed of yourself. You don’t have to like or agree with JVP or INN, but spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories SHOULD BE beneath you. There is nothing wrong with getting $$ through Tides and including Soros in this is pure antisemitic crap.

Hamas has not provided a formal answer, and already Israel is making moves on Rafah. The decision is part of Israel's effort to make it appear as if it wants a deal and is doing everything to get one, while Hamas is rejecting. But this is misleading 🧵

An Israeli official told the New York Times that Israel and Hamas had been closer to a deal a couple of days ago, but that Netanyahu’s statements about invading Rafah regardless of the outcome compelled Hamas to harden its demands in an attempt to ensure that Israeli forces won’t…

The last 2 weeks have exposed America's moral rot of colleges acting like hedge funds, a militarized police state, and a broken news media. Could it get any worse?

Yes. If Trump wins in November

The evacuation order includes areas of both Rafah & Kerem Shalom crossings, the crux of humanitarian operations for all Gaza. There is at present no viable alternative to these crossings. Both crossings are closed today, as acute malnutrition, starvation & likely famine reign.

“No one has ever gotten pregnant while listening to the music of Rush. Clinical studies show that when combined with watching a male sexual partner play air bass along to the extended solo in “Freewill,” the contraceptive efficacy of Rush approaches 100 percent.”

so many takes like this predicated on the original SJP UCSC demand sheet. The dissonance is that the SJP does not call for more Jewish centers. It does not call for embracing Jews who boycott Hillel. It effectively calls for the removal of Hillel from campus. THAT is the problem.

The United States has an obligation to uphold its own laws and to respect human rights globally.

Amidst the Israeli gov’s siege on Gaza, blocking humanitarian aid, and threats on Rafah, withholding US military aid is a major development towards ceasefire.

'Netanyahu hoped Hamas would reject the cease-fire offer. When it didn't, he turned to sabotage' by saying he would invade Rafah whether or not there was a deal with Hamas, 'torpedo[ing] Israel's last and best chance at bringing the hostages home.'

“Scoop: U.S. put a hold on an ammunition shipment to Israel”

If acccurate, this is very significant as the first withholding of US arms from Israel since October 7, coming as large numbers of lawmakers wrote to Biden last week on Israel’s actions in Gaza: x.com/dylanotes/stat…

Good point -- Stefanik is definitely another one Dems could highlight at coming antisemitism hearings. Also as Matt Duss points out, Stefanik is actively smearing journos as antisemites in the vilest of terms. Could highlight the McCarthyite dimensions to this at hearings, too!
