The idea is that the PMs would contribute (indirectly) to saving the lives of those whose rights are at issue in the case (Palestinians in Gaza) and therefore would help to preserve the status quo while the case is pending. No?

I think the idea is that if a cessation of military support can potentially contribute to Israel changing its conduct, the link is established and goes to stemming an urgent risk of irreparable prejudice.

Business is booming at the CIJ_ICJ. If proceeds, it will presumably base jurisdiction on the Pact of Bogota, as Mexico has not joined the VCDR Optional Protocol (as far as I know) and only Mexico, but not , has made an optional clause declaration.
