So London North West University Healthcare we’ve been busy this October tackling our ENT Paediatric long waiters. During the weekend of the 5th & 6th we saw 30 children. Kevin Finlinson

So the lists focus on procedures with the least risk of complications. Our teams performed back to back procedures & ensured that our patients spent the night in the comfort of their own beds.

The weekend of the 19th & 20th we took it a step further with 31 patients. Patients were allowed home on the same day

We’re piloting this initiative with the hope of expanding to include other types of surgeries.

We got a thumbs up from parents & children, saying the weekend lists avoid youngsters from missing school; no childcare costs for the other siblings; no heavy traffic on the roads; great timing as it coincides with half term.
