Primary 6s and 7s had an exciting visit from Mrs Hanley Midlothian_STEM with Donna Hanley and completed a STEM escape room. The children had to solve problems including electrical circuits, Spheros and reading animals characteristics to escape from their classroom. #STEMeducation
As part of our spelling lesson today we used the Frayer Model today to learn about the prefix pre. We looked at examples and non-examples which spurred great discussion. This was inspired by the Midlothian Raising Attainment Team team’s input last week.
P7 had a great first lesson learning the basics of WeVideo today. We learned how to add titles, backgrounds, videos, images, narration and audio. Thank you to Paul McGinty and the Midlothian Digital Inclusion and Learning Team team for the great Grab and Go resources.
We have been enjoying weekly art lessons in P7 this year. We have been learning about the 7 elements of art including colour, line, space and form. Here are some of our creations so far. #creativityintheclassroom

A great morning working with pupils and parents to develop our outdoor area. We painted pallets for chalkboards and planters, planted seeds and herbs in tin cans and made bird feeders. #outdoorplay
A great afternoon building our mechanical vehicles. A lot of great discussions about safety and risk as well as pulling together our learning about pulleys and levers. Midlothian_STEM with Donna Hanley #STEMeducation
