Was great to welcome interim Director of the British Museum, Mark Jones, to Great North Museum: Hancock today to discuss our BM partnership gallery and the loans we have made to the current Legion Exhibition in London.

Inclement weather today certainly not dampening the atmosphere at Great North Museum: Hancock which is hosting the Moving Parts Puppetry Festival this week both inside and out on the front lawn!

At the spectacular The Bowes Museum for the opening of 7 (Seven!) brand new spaces including open-collections vaults and three community co-curated galleries which look beautiful and inspire conversation, curiosity and creativity! Great work from Hannah Fox and team.

Did you know the North East had a leading role in the history of astronomy and study of space? Well the new Great North Museum: Hancock 'Space Investigators' exhib, jointly w Newcastle University has all kinds of surprises, facts & activities for the space-curious of all ages. Highly recommended

Great preview of ‘Space Investigators’ at Great North Museum: Hancock in partnership with Newcastle University which focuses in on the North East’s role in the history of astronomy and study of space. It’s fun and interactive and full of surprises. I even visited the International Space Station!
