My cold take on this is that ChatGPT was hyped and framed as a general artificial intelligence that could do just about anything, when in fact it’s a specific form of artificial intelligence that does just a few things well (including faking the ability to do many others)

How about a maximum amount any single donor can donate to any single university in their lifetime? Something like max 1 million ($, euro, pounds, etc.). This would both force the spreading out of donations & limit influence of any single donor on academic mission

Very interesting implications re asset ownership here: extension of control by richest nations via global trust in their financial assets, enabling (via low interest rates too) their extraction of value from rest of the world
