After Centre reduced excise on petrol by Rs 5 and on diesel by Rs 10, there has been a matching cut in VAT by 22 State Govts and UTs. Except non-BJP, non-NDA States which have so far refused to reduce VAT. Among them: Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Punjab.
