We enjoyed retracing our intellectual journey, and revisiting the many papers that drove our thinking. As we were drawn to dynamical explanations, preparatory activity was our gateway drug. Work by Matt Kaufman was a key enabler
I’m super excited to say that I will be starting my lab as Asst. Prof. at the University of Pennsylvania Penn Arts & Sciences in the beautiful, vibrant, and sunny city of Philadelphia. My lab will lead an integrative approach to animal cognition in the lab and in the field!! #recruiting
Amazing cross disciplinary study of primate social behavior by Camille Testard, much to learn and savour, congrats! 👏🥂🎉
Congratulations to The Brain Prize winners 2024: Larry Abbott, @Sejnowski, and Haim Sompolinsky
They have pioneered the field of computational and theoretical neuroscience and have made seminal contributions to our understanding of the principles that govern the brain’s…
Thrilled to share that my PhD advisor, Larry Abbott, and pioneers Terry Sejnowski Terrence Sejnowski & Haim Sompolinsky Haim Sompolinsky clinched the prestigious Brain Prize for their groundbreaking work in computational and theoretical neuroscience.

This honor is a watershed…
Neural scaling laws report how the loss of a model depends on the model size, training time, and total available data. In recent work with Alex Atanasov Cengiz Pehlevan we develop a model of scaling with these three quantities for networks in the lazy training/kernel regime.
Postdoc opening in computational neuroscience: Come join us at Yale in Physics, the QBio Institute Yale QBio , and the Wu Tsai Institute Wu Tsai Institute | Yale University!

If you’re at APS March Meeting APS Meetings come find me!
Presenting work today at #Cosyne24 on a theory of end-to-end learning in large RNNs which can capture reservoir computing and feature learning regimes with Jacob Zavatone-Veth Cengiz Pehlevan. Come by poster 38 today if interested!
🚨 Preprint alert 🚨 Higher-order correlations (HOCs) carry important information, for example in images, but how hard is it to unwrap those higher-order correlations? We study this question with Eszter Székely, Lorenzo Bardone, and Federica Gerace in a spiked cumulant model...👇
