Ballintoy Harbour, the coastal nook that featured in Game of Thrones (where didn’t in Northern Ireland), picturesquely perched at the end of the narrow road that snakes from the high cliffs down to the sea.

It’s all about the hidden details along the Causeway Coast.

There’s waterfalls, caves, castles, bridges and beaches to be discovered in every nook and cranny.

A hidden gem, hidden in plain sight 💎

If you want to avoid the hoards of coaches carrying thousands of people to the Causeway Coast, but still want to spend a day exploring this historic coastline then I’d highly recommend Dunseverick.

Just testing the water…

The Mussenden Temple balancing on the edge of a sheer 120ft drop into the wild Atlantic below.

It wasn’t always this close. 200 years ago you could drive a horse and cart around it. 50 years ago you could have a picnic on the seaward side. Time has eroded 3 metres of cliff.

Nothing to see here either, just the world’s most secret beach full of lots of swooshery and swishery.

Nothing to see here, just a bridge over some troubled water

Nothing to see here, sure it’s just a small circular building precariously perched on the cliffs near Castlerock, high above the Atlantic Ocean.

Swipe for a reality check, spent way too long people zapping and litter picking on this. A McDonald’s drink is shamefully impressive.

Encroachment

Huge swells swallow the secret beach whole before retreating, in a false sense of security, suddenly rushing in again and again to attack the jet black rugged rocks.

You might say this is the lazy way to visit the rope bridge, from Portaneevy Viewpoint, but the truth is we arrived so early it wasn’t even open yet.

We also had no intentions of doing the walk regardless.

I went to see the SeaRose as it sat rose out of the sea. It might not be the Titanic, but it is gigantic.
