The EU is facing numerous challenges. Cohesion policy is essential to tackle many of them, but the policy needs to be reformed, made easier and improve its partnership with regions. However, we need to fight avoid losing the cohesive parts of cohesion in the process!

I am happy to have participated at this @Orufogar event at #EUregionsweek discussing the there is a point shifts from periphery to centre are not having a positive cost-benefit effect, in aggregate or for any side. The overall effects need a better analysis to guide policymaking.

There is one probpem that our report shows, it is that Cohesion Policy will not break the EU budget, but the EU budget may break cohesion. As Jacques Delors warned, without cohesion there can be no single market. The finances and policy design need to improve.
