Yesssssss! Harvard adopts a policy of institutional neutrality, or more specifically, a version of it, that addresses key issues of 'institutional voice' in a very thoughtful manner!!!! A great day for Harvard University and higher education!!

You should listen to this wonderful lecture about antisemitism - its history and causes- by David Wolpe, a visiting faculty at Harvard Divinity, where too few understand what he says here. youtu.be/xU3zyA1Zydg?si…

Instead of “Harvard Graduates,” we have “Jewish Harvard graduates,” and “Arab Harvard graduates,” and “Black Harvard graduates.” This sort of splintering would seem inconsistent with what we aspire to.

I have criticized the Harvard Corporation for many failures this year, and for general problems with their approach to governance. Their decision today to overrule the FAS vote on student discipline was the correct one, and they deserve respect and praise for doing so.

Dissent in The Crimson Opinion: There is No Palestine Exception

It's a choice to view Harvard's actions as a Palestine exception to free speech — a choice that buries the antisemitism that has plagued the pro-Palestinian movement.

Jacob Miller writes.

Faculty mis-governance Harvard University. Extremely concerning. Unless the Corporation steps in, this will incentivize even worse trampling on rules required to maintain University values and standards in the future.

Increasing threats to academic freedom in higher ed and medicine are leading to self-censorship and undermining open inquiry. We need more robust policies to protect free speech.

I came upon and read this article Jacobin. I tried to take the ideas seriously. If this is not a parody of modern socialist thinking, it is indeed a very sad state of affairs for those who appear to hold these views.

A violation of 1st amendment at a public University. Even if these folks and many supporters cared not about attacks on free speech and speech codes for speech they didn't like at their university. FIRE
