I was telling a fellow author today about how, many years ago, an editor in the UK told me not to mention colonialism so much in my writing. And honestly I increasingly feel like this about sums up the attitude of way too many people in the industry.

Just gonna leave this here as a reminder: this happened. Spot the difference. I'd say something many of us know in our bones about UK publishing, but instead I want to thank the 786 of you who stood up for what is right today.
