Núria Catalan and colleagues - Great paper on women in limnology across time! I loved the exhibit in Combria in 2018. doi.org/10.1002/wat2.1… Emily Bernhardt @DrNitrogen @JenniferLTank Hydrology Frankfurt Carol Folt Freshwater Science SIL Limnology AIL Limnología
Woohooo!!! Big shoutout to Kaci (and awesome coauthors/mentors Jessica Wilhelm, Dr. Amy Burgin, and others) for receiving the 🎉🥳🎉BEST UNDERGRAD POSTER PRESENTATION 🎉🥳🎉 from Freshwater Science for her #JASM22 poster!!!
awesome article about Kynser Wahwahsuck ✨'s experience as a KU grad student + career path. Kynser gave me the warmest welcome when I moved to KS in pursuit of my PhD and didn't know a single person... & there's a pic of us in the field during a 24-hour sampling! news.ku.edu/2022/11/01/pro…
Been a while, had a solid fieldwork day at Kings Creek Konza Prairie LTER ! Downloaded pressure transducers, took some seep water samples, and tied flagging tape around trees for a future project. This watershed is the best, esp before leaf out and tick season 🙃
#fieldworkhack ! ran into some trouble w stream sensor deployment - found out the hard way that rubber mallets and rebar don’t pair well! Used some stones from the stream for a makeshift tool win 🪨 …& those Konza Prairie LTER Shane Creek watershed views 😍
Spent the weekend running a 14K around my watershed Konza Prairie LTER, fished streams w wild trout, and geeked out over the 20th largest spring in Missouri! #water scientist through and through 💙💧#flyfishing #findyourwater
Well, guess I'll be reporting 'missing data' due to bison obstruction lol ...my trail cam is taking pix of this octagon sign at Kings Creek Konza Prairie LTER to generate continuous stage + other hydro metrics. Turns out this pooling stream is a fav watering hole 🦬
Took some notes from USGS Data Science and made a ridge plot with my favorite intermittent stream gage. 42 years of average daily discharge from Kings Creek. #USGS #AIMS #Kansas #konzaprairie #LTER #DataVisualization
Goodbye to Rachel Wakefield (she/her), our trusted labmate and lab tech of the last ~4 years! Rachel is leaving our lab for a field tech position with NEON in Manhattan. She will be missed 🤍 *field pic by Rachel during her last field day at Konza
Intermittent stream seasonal sampling round 2 is in the books! completed a week of sampling w this awesome crew Konza Prairie LTER and Youngmeyer watersheds. One sampling set closer to understanding intermittent stream biogeochemistry and hydrology💧#goteamgo
Had the most epic week sampling intermittent streams in Idaho! Idaho State University mountain west crew are a stellar group. doing science in the mountains w awesome ppl is hard to beat #fieldworkfriday #AIMS #intermittentstreams

Big thank you to Kansas Bio Survey & Center for Ecological Research’s @DrCyanoHAB & team for teaching the lake lab for our Ecology Field and Lab methods course at the KU Field Station Cross Reservoir! What an awesome experience to learn about lakes from ‘algae guy’ Dr. Ted Harris & team from the middle of a lake 🛶
