The American Hotel stood on the N.E. corner of Yonge & Front circa 1844-1889, across from the current Hockey Hall of Fame. Here is a menu from 1884 from the American Hotel’s restaurant, whose cuisine at the time reportedly “ranks as the very best.”

Spent most of the day on my presentation on Manitoba hotel postcards. Here's one from Toronto: the Queen's Hotel (by W. G. MacFarlane with the royal arms). Posted 12 May 1906 to Marlbank, Ont.: 'Princess Theatre / Dear Edna:- Mother and I are here waiting for curtain to rise.'
