On this date in 1816, the first parking and driving regulations were introduced for the Town of York. The parking regulation stated that 'Carts and carriages left in the streets shall be arranged along the sides in a regular manner on the penalty of five shillings'.

The Canadian Bank of Commerce building on Queen W at University (built 1929) seen here in 1931 . Awarded heritage protection in 1973, it’s now partly dismantled and is supposed to be reassembled as part of a new Metrolinx station, as per this rendering.
