Impt work from #TOBOGM team showing early diagnosis of #GDM is associated with 'normal' rates of breastfeeding compared to women who are diagnosed later. It's difficult to do RCTs of breastfeeding, but evidence suggests it's impt way of reducing risk of #T2DM after GDM.

- Type 2 diabetic pregnancies are more sensitive to glucose changes
- Additional socioeconomic factors but we can control improving glucose in pregnancy

⭐️ less than 10% of women with T2DM are adequately prepared for pregnancy
⭐️ it takes these women 2 weeks longer to access antenatal clinic than women with T1DM
