I made this painting to remind me that I have permission to be happy, any damn time.

Here are the first + last paintings of my project.

My technique smoothed out over 100 days of daily painting, I became very familiar with my palette, AND I got fast! This is only a fraction of what I learned.

This painting, “Brief Surge,” is about a fleeting sensation of a surge of…motivation? to do a thing I want to do. For a brief moment my heart was lifted and, if I put my hands and mind to the task, it would happen without effort.

A recent milestone for me was completing the 100 Paintings project. I’m so very grateful for the project and all it has taught me.

Here is my classic white spiral on a stable field of amethyst. The glowing sky above symbolizes excitement and possibility.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to learn is to allow myself to feel my feelings.

A big one was allowing myself to feel sad, even when things seemed objectively good.The only way through it is to feel it.
