John Means will be in the rotation, Brandon Hyde said.

Hyde was encouraged by Means’ final rehab start — 7 scoreless innings — on Sunday.

But the Orioles have yet to set their rotation for Thursday and beyond.

Brandon Hyde said the Orioles don’t know the severity of Grayson Rodriguez’s shoulder injury. Rodriguez woke up Tuesday with soreness, and Hyde described placing him on the IL as “precautionary.”

“We’re staying optimistic,” Hyde said. He hopes Rodriguez is only out a few weeks.

For Dean Kremer to outpitch Nestor Cortes is proof of how far the Orioles have come in a few short years.

Unlike during the rebuild, Baltimore’s hitters can handle Cortes, and Kremer can tame the Yankees’ bats.
