We need to talk about Travis Kelce's new contract.
Yesterday's reporting was a mess. With the real details and a quote from Kelce, I think we may know his future retirement plan, and it's better to embrace it than to fight it.

The Chiefs still haven't signed a complement to Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire... unless that player is already on the team?

Brett Veach addressed KC's RB3 spot this week, hinting at a position battle taking place throughout the offseason. ⬇️

Back down to two years. This is thrilling. Like watching polls on election night. 87% of precincts reporting.

'I can't wait to get after it these next two years.'
Sounds like the early language from some of the national reporters was wrong. Lots of 'extension' and 'four more years' talk. Think this is actually a two-year raise/guarantee for Kelce, not adding new years.

UDFAs.
Start of quote: 'Certainly a lot of draft stuff to talk about, really proud of the work that my staff did this weekend in conjunction with our coaching staff to bring seven new additions to this organization, and got some verbals on some free agents...'

It's worth noting that Kelce got hurt the DAY before the season started and was clearly playing at less than 100% for an extended period of time.

The decision to rest him in Week 18 was huge. He looked like the same guy in the playoffs that he's been for the last 2-3 years.

Earlier this year, some speculated whether Travis Kelce's time in the NFL could be coming to a close soon.

In reality, it's the opposite. On Monday, Kelce and the Chiefs reportedly agreed on a contract extension to keep the star TE in KC for years. 💰⬇️
