I don’t think it’s price. Wine is being crowded out where young people form drinking habits.

Plenty of solid platform wines still available to launch one’s passion and interest… but after that… little room for progression unless you are a millionaire! 🍷😅

And that goes way beyond Bordeaux and Burgundy to Australia, Italy, Spain, pretty much everywhere in fact.

We don't need a few more passionate wine nerds like us

We need a LOT more wine drinkers, even if they don't give a toss about provenance, stories, whatever...

We just need them to buy + drink the stuff

To non-nerds, price is much more significant as a determinant of buying than stories or terroir. Are they getting good value from wine vs other categories? That was my original point/question and it is worth consideration, I think.

Vectors we seem to be behind on are flavour experimentation, format, availability on tap.

That’s significant. Casual wine drinkers CAN and DO taste the difference between good and bad wine. They just don’t write about it; they buy something else.
