Interesting! Bolt tries to justify dynamic pricing to war weary Kyiv residents after jacking up fares due to some metro lines going out of service for several months for emergency repairs. Uklon claims to have no control over its pricing algorithm!

This should be a wake up call for regulators but it won't. There is far too much hovering up of personal data by private hire & food delivery operators with far too little regulatory oversight. taxi-point.co.uk/post/data-breaโ€ฆ

Uber has run into a problem in transitioning to EVs in London: most charge points are in wealthy areas where drivers don't live.
Maybe pay drivers enough so they too can live in wealthy areas? According to TfL, 71% of private hire drivers live in most deprived London communities

Hearing that London black cab drivers already on the Uber app are making big money. This is the usual MO to lure people on to the platform with carrots. Much later the sticks come out and the carrots disappear forever.

With a spike in road casualties related to food delivery this seriously crass comms from Bolt betrays their true contempt for workers:
- 'Now, the food delivery industry has a problem: unforeseen road incidents that can lead to food spillage.' - bolt.eu/en/blog/an-opeโ€ฆ

I think it's much higher. U do c. 500k trips per day in London.
Assume no new growth. If taxis are to meet their addressable market share of Uber platform by fleet(c
15%) Uber needs c.12,500 taxis to serve addressable market of 75k trips pd,otherwise taxi is losing share to Uber

This is a knotty case that raises many more questions for TfL about its testing regime than it answers. It would be incredibly harsh for TfL to reassess the claimants' candidate scores. But it seems TfL will need to overhaul the process.

Trade unions and the local community need to be vigilant against these developments and stamp them out. United struggles for better housing & services in the areas and for increased wages will cut the legs of attempts from fascist elements trying to whip up division and hate.

The far-right raising their ugly head in with swastikas and emblems daubed in the town. This is clearly aimed at intimidating migrant workers and ethnic minorities in the area. Slum landlordism and divide & rule tactics of employers is giving oxygen to racism.

Uber is onboarding black cabs in London once more. In 2016, it successfully defeated an TfL Taxi & Private Hire & The LTDA High Court claim that the app is defacto a meter. With black cabs back on the platform, will Uber defer to the meter in the cab to calculate fares?

How can Uber say taxi drivers are independently marketing themselves to the world while artificially throttling the market place they are supposed to be addressing? It's all a fiction, the app employers are in complete control & they must pay for the privilege w worker rights.

How on earth is TfL licensee Uber getting their hands on TfL held personal data relating to TfL licensed taxi drivers operating TfL licensed hackney carriages working in the TfL regulated London market?

Apps are slowly but steadily taking over the taxi and private hire market in Singapore. Street hail made up 21% of TPH journeys in 2021 but this fell to 18% in 2022 and fell again in 2023 to just 14%.
