Thank you to all the coaches for attending yesterday’s Workshop on Developing Overloads and Attacking Play. The only cost is your time, and I am sure your players will appreciate the efforts you make to enhance their enjoyment and development.

Thanks Hong Kong. Very insightful, and captures many of the challenges within us regarding our human nature and mindset. Working hard on many of these aspects, and the more I read posts like yourself and understand, the more I feel like I’m winning.

Thanks to everyone who attended last night’s Fun Quiz evening at Our Ladys. Was great for me to be able to payback and reconnect with all the county people, volunteer groups, community and charity workers of the area who have supported me and the Club throughout the years.

Another fact about the 2018/2019 season. It was a County’s first season back in the original ‘Home’ changing room. The Sharks had moved ‘Home’ to Away. Me, Ralph & Kim from HTH spent the summer of 2018 decorating to return to the real ‘Home’. That’s where the memories are made.

Mr 1%. Our Strength coach Nick Donnelly called himself Mr 1% but his input and impact was much more important. In the 2018/2019 season Stockport county, while still part time, we upped our strength training. We didn’t have any player suffer a muscle injury throughout the season!

Been working hard to bring the next level of a coach education workshop to grassroots coaches. Wanted to offer something for the more experienced coaches looking for a ‘block’ of attacking sessions and to help them link a series of sessions to consolidate player development.

My experience is that it rarely hurts your chances. But more importantly, it is an aspect that you will look back at and be more proud of than your trophies or medals.

To Paraphrase Confucius…
Tell a player how to think, you help him for a game.
Teach him how to think, you help him for life.

I love what you do. On here, the guest interviews and so much more. Keeping the historical spirit of the Club very much alive.

If you see that the organization of society is bad and wish to correct it, you should know that there’s only one way to do it: all people must become better. And in the task of making people better you have power over only one thing: making yourself better.

Despite the correlation between success and discipline of my football teams. I’ve never been asked by another manager or coach to explain the why? or the how?
