Conservation grazing might not look pretty at times but it offers the natural environment a chance to restart natural processes

This is more specific to wetlands, of course and timing is key in achieving the desired outcome

The hours spent trying to take images of swifts on your phone!

Not entirely happy with this one, but it’s the best so far today

So can you help us rehome this bird

Currently sitting outside my office and has quite clearly escaped

It has a ring on it with a number that will hopefully identify its owner please RT

As I understand it’s

This hedge delivers multiple benefits

It only really works with what is adjacent to it, species rich flower margins and cultivated areas for our plants

It’s all about diversity in landscape

Btw there’s also food production😉

When you ask the guy operating the machinery to keep it rough because that’s how nature likes it!

Wonderful job, but just too neat and tidy for my liking

Work in progress !

Ok wildflowerhour so it’s not a hedge, but it is a field boundary and technically doesn’t meet this week’s challenge

But it’s a beautiful scene with sheep’s parsley in the foreground and who doesn’t like a wetland 😉

Farming with or farming around nature

Top marks to this farmer for identifying lapwings nesting on his field destined for spring cropping

Ploughed cultivated and drilled around nests

10 in total with three already hatched

Ok the hedgerows could be better but the abundance of species growing on minor roads is impressive and a sign of what has be lost elsewhere

Theses are our biodiversity banks

Take it slow or even stop to admire them, it in most cases will be worth it

Between the showers and the image definitely doesn’t take into account the north wind

Otherwise looking rather spring like
