Browsers can do a better job helping users understand sites' capabilities, and a better job mediating sites' requests for more powerful features. If you're interested in helping Chrome do better than Block/Allow dialogs, g.co/kgs/2TE3Xi is the job for you.

This is massive. Firefox is restricting all 3rd party cookies by default. I'm really proud to have worked on this and congrats to the amazing team that made it possible!

It's really hard to fully capture what a massive change in the web ecosystem this is (it seemed like a moonshot back then) and how far we've come in just three years. Other browsers have massively contributed in getting us there.

To help show the magnitude of this change, here's the original proposal to partition state in Firefox from 2010-- 12 years ago! wiki.mozilla.org/Thirdparty They hoped to land it in on-by-default in Firefox 4. Only 97 versions ago ;).

This is what I really like about Google. There's a lot of mobility and no excessive barriers on domain knowledge for hiring or transferring. Everyone does really well in their jobs after a few months anyway, because, huge surprise, skills can be learned.

Everyone makes fun of the US for being holdouts on Imperial measurements, or Fahrenheit, or backwards date formats, but I don't see enough paper size discourse. Look at this beauty. 4 A6s fitting into 2 A5 fitting into 1 A4... this is a definite perk of moving abroad.
