Honoured to have met the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester today, and to have taken the Duke on a heritage tour of the Cathedral. Grateful for the opportunities this PhD is bringing me and particularly thankful to everyone at Newcastle Cathedral for including me in events like this.

Always lovely to come “home” for whatever reason, but even better for anything Spalding Gentlemen’s Society Museum related. Very pleased to see the Centre for Fenland Studies opening at Ayscoughfee Hall, and to hear about the plans for the SGS Museum in the next phase of their development.

A very special visit today by #aphraconference delegates and some guest Cantaburians to see Aphra Behn’s grave in Westminster Abbey - we left a stunning wreath and a spare £ coin, so she doesn’t have to worry about those debts again.

Taking a break from PhD things for a lunchtime wander. Passed the Keelmen’s Hospital, built in 1701 for the keelmen and their families. It now sits on Historic England’s ‘Heritage at Risk’ register. It’s a building with loads of potential. I really hope it can be saved.

My son has lost his beloved soft toy of Mog the cat. We think Mog forgot to get off the train at East Dulwich this afternoon, and may have travelled all the way to London Bridge. (To be fair, this would be quite in character.) Bit of a long shot, but has anyone seen Mog?
