To protect coastlines from rising sea levels and natural processes, various engineering methods are utilized. In Cape Point, boulders are deployed to reduce wave energy and safeguard the coast. Examples of hard and soft engineering approaches can be observed along our coastline.

The abundance of seashells on beaches is a sign of a vibrant coastal ecosystem where marine life thrives and contributes to the health of the environment.

Seashells are often left behind by clams and other mollusks. They are transported by waves, tides and currents to the shore.
