When I talk to people, I just say 'virus containing micro-droplets that stay afloat for ~minutes-hour in indoor environments that you INHALE'. Seems to me that stressing 'INHALE' is key, instead of battling over terms like 'droplets', 'aerosols', and 'airborne'.
