every connection requires effort but that is only true if the sentiment is mutual, if the energy comes from both sides, if each person is open to doing the work; trying to force movement when you’re the only one driving a vehicle designed for two people will only get you so far.

some energy is too expensive to invest in. if their presence has you paying with your peace then it’ll only leave you emotionally and spiritually bankrupt eventually.

second chances aren’t a prerequisite after an apology, forgiveness isn’t always the matchstick needed to rekindle an old flame, access to you isn’t a paid subscription, sometimes your boundaries and the love you have for yourself are more important than their changed behavior.

there’s something powerful about connections where both people pour from a full cup without expecting anything in return. selfless connections that aren’t solely dependent on reciprocation but put growth at the forefront.
