Let's keep talking about Ibrahima, a young person from Senegal who was sentenced to 9.5 years imprisonment a few weeks ago.
He steered a dinghy across the Channel to seek safety for himself and others. For many, this is the only way to arrive to claim asylum.

I was in court for this devastating sentencing yesterday.
I heard how Choul agreed to steer the dinghy as he could not afford the crossing. He did not know this would lead to imprisonment in the UK.
Choul flees war at home, yet he is imprisoned here.
