About 600,000 New Yorkers don't have any health care coverage at all. That's 600,000 people living in fear of getting sick, with nowhere to turn for care except the emergency room. Health care is a human right and it's time we put that theory into practice.

I joined NY AG James to oppose the Trump Administration’s #PublicCharge rule. At NYC Health + Hospitals, we welcome all – no matter their #immigration status or income. I remain hopeful this dangerous & short-sighted immigration rule never goes into effect: bit.ly/2ic6qcV

Health care is a right, and a #SinglePayerSystem means better care for all of us. Doctors should spend more time on patient care instead of filling out forms and fighting with #HealthInsurance companies. Read my testimony: bit.ly/32Lyr2L | #NYHealthAct | #PassNYHealth

We’re expanding the role of our clinical pharmacists to help nearly 100,000 of our patients manage their #HighBloodPressure. These pharmacists are certified to adjust, stop or start any medications related to diseases they are treating: bit.ly/382XjWB

Great news for New Yorkers that the nationwide injunction on the proposed #PublicCharge rule will remain in place. NYC Health + Hospitals will continue to offer culturally competent care to all New Yorkers, regardless of their #immigration status: bit.ly/2UZraIG

I delivered a video message to NYC Health + Hospitals staff to provide a system-wide update on #coronavirus. I want to thank you all for the work that you have already been doing around the #COVID19 pandemic & for keeping NYers safe. I have no doubt we will: bit.ly/2IjkErp

.The Daily Show is staying home, and so should you! The ER is for emergencies only. If you have mild or moderate symptoms, wait 3-4 days to see if they improve. If they don’t, call your doctor. But don’t take our word for it, listen to Trevor Noah! More: nyc.gov/coronavirus

#COVID19 has emphasized how critical preventative health care is to all NYers, regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. By offering telehealth visits, NYC Health + Hospitals extended its commitment to the wellness of all NYers where they feel safest: bit.ly/2XI7M5P

Proud mama today! Getting our daughter her first COVID dose today was a no-brainer. Feel good knowing we are on the way to reducing her risk of severe disease and also helping to decrease chance she might transmit to others!

7/ This is not to say that there isn't lots of room for improvement in the care of these "high cost" individuals (an example might be oncology treatment with little to no incremental benefit)

Hannah Jackson (@hjacksonmd) 's Twitter Profile Photo

8/8 And so, I hope our health care cost pie shrinks, but I don't know if I'm convinced that the proportion of pie slices should or would change. #IHIforum
