HDR Light Studio 8.2.1 is now out. While this version doesn't add new features to the main HDR Light Studio application, it's required to work correctly with plug-in updates, including plug-ins for MODO 17 and Rhino 8. Additionally, 3ds Max & Omniverse plug-ins contain bug fixes.

In HDR Light Studio 8.1, Scrim Lights brought a photographic way to make studio lighting. In version 8.2, Scrim Lights are improved with the new Infinite Plane setting, guaranteeing soft lighting effects. Now, Scrim Lights aren't restricted by the physical edges of the scrim. #3d

In HDR Light Studio 8.2 presets are automatically sorted into tabs, making them more accessible. For instance, images with a 2:1 ratio or lights that fill the canvas will be filtered and displayed under the Environment tab.

HDR Light Studio 8.2 includes 405 new HDRI maps from hdrmap.com, plus new rigs, lights, content, elements, and effects. Customers with active subscriptions or permanent licenses with active maintenance can download version 8.2 and updated plug-ins from their account.

Craft symmetrical lighting designs along an axis. Control the reflection direction, brightness, and alpha with precision. Use the blend control for soft transitions. The reflection filter speeds up studio lighting, making it perfect for automotive, product & packaging CGI.

HDR Light Studio 8.2 introduces Preset Auditioning, with a new Audition toggle switch in the Preset Library. It lets you preview presets instantly by hovering over the thumbnail, speeding up experimentation with lighting options like HDRI maps, lights, colors, and more.

In HDR Light Studio 8.2 precise placement of Shadows & Shades is now possible with the new LightPaint methods. In Shadow mode, you click on the 3D scene to put the light's shadow where needed. In Shade mode, clicking lets you place the light to make shade on the chosen surface.
