Some days hope wins. Today we re-elected a devout Muslim Brit of Pakistani heritage who is fierce in his defence of Jewish Londoners and LGBT+ Londoners, someone who models tolerance and inclusion, and puts all our kids first. And we rejected the racism that tries to divide us.

Some brilliant results for Christians on the Left members winning and holding seats across the country, but I’m as proud of the several incredible members who have run the Tories to within 5% in PCC elections against all the odds. 💪

My hottest take on the results so far is that my last week of June holiday is safe.

It is a point that needs repeating again and again: the people being sent to Rwanda aren’t people who the government has determined are here illegally. It is not bothering to check whether someone’s claim is legitimate or not before trying to send them there.
