Let's remind ourselves what multi million pound construction company Bouygues UK had to say: A more durable marine grade plywood ought to have been used. They're now replacing the balcony fascias. And take safety very seriously

The construction of the balconies on this estate was a disastrous catalogue of errors. A subcontractor (which by the way doesn't get @bouyguesuk off the hook) seemingly used the WRONG materials. Wood more suitable for shelves in your bedroom than a balcony

The housing industry was downing champagne at 5 star hotel award ceremonies. For a development that's now potentially unsafe and unfit for purpose. You can see why residents are furious!

I wish they spent less time taking cool photos and more time checking the materials and subcontractors. Maybe that would help them avoid using plywood in our balconies, for example...
