At TIFF, May cinematheque programming began today at 10:10 a.m.
At 10:23 a.m., there are no available seats for the films. Even for members who have paid the yearly $120 or higher.
How is this possible?
Then theatres expressed their displeasure with the low turnout!

Definitely one of the greatest films on photojournalism! Far better than Civial War.

Very thoughtful article by Justin Chang. Boat People was banned in Taiwan, then in China, also withdrawn from the cannes under pressure from the French Socialist government. Recommended watch!

Ken Loach’s feature 'The Old Oak' is a brutual, emotional and a thought provoking piece of social realism cinema that takes place in and around an English village, where not all are welcoming to newly arrived refugees from Syria. Now Playing at TIFF

We are all extremely bored. To the point where we are desperate to unearth the terrible nostalgia from the pages of World War 2 and play it out in front of us as a virtual reality in the form of World War 3. What kind of world have we built?

Danila Tkachenko's astounding ‘Restricted Areas’ series on the relics of Soviet utopianism

Can you see beauty in it, or only decay?
