As Jesus sends us out into the world, he promises that the trials, sufferings, and rejections we might experience for living faithfully will never separate us from his love. This gift is more powerful than any worldly challenge. No wonder Jesus tells us: “Do not be afraid.”

A person’s location, environment, race, religion, gender, size, disability, or level of dependency doesn’t determine their humanity. Every single life has inherent human dignity from the moment of conception.

Jesus tells us that when we pray to our Heavenly Father we should not tell him what we must have. Instead, we should pray in the name of his Son and seek only the Father’s will. Then, Jesus says “our joy will be complete.” With that promise, pray an Our Father this day.

I endorse the statement that Phil Lawler hoped for,

“The Church’s teaching has not changed, will not change, cannot change on fundamental questions such as the inviolability of the marriage bond and sanctity of the Eucharist.”

Pray for the Church.

We often hear voices speaking falsehoods and empty promises. For that reason, Jesus promises that the Spirit of Truth will inspire, lead, and guide us if only we listen. Be sure to pause before making any decision today and ask the Holy Spirit to keep you “truly wise.”

One of my favorite quotes from St Teresa of Calcutta is, “Abortion is profoundly anti-woman. Three quarters of its victims are women: half of the babies and all of the moms.”

To follow Jesus, we must frequently separate ourselves from the crowd and reject worldly ways. This will not always be easy. Yet, is always possible with the grace of God. Ask for his help so that you may demonstrate you belong to him and are not controlled by worldly pressures.

Like the apostles, Philip and James, we are chosen and sent in the name of Jesus to proclaim his Gospel in a world that desperately needs to hear his message and teachings. The Lord seeks your response. Remember: “This day Christ gives me. This day Christ sends me.”
