Her face turned to one of concern and bitterness. “What did she do to you? What did she say?”

“She’s rude, mean, toxic, and a really shitty friend. Don’t listen to a word she says. I, for one, am very happy for you. Congratulations, Minthe.”

“I’ve heard tell that somebody wants his golden traitor… Hmm… Not if I can help it.”

“You want to talk to m e about potentially being a bad mother? I let my son get thrown out of Olympus, didn’t treat Athena like my daughter, Ares didn’t have a good relationship role model, Hebe is stressed beyond comprehension, and Eris h a t e s me.”

Hers opened the door and gave her head a small tilt. “What’s wrong?”

“Eris hating everyone is mostly my fault. Minthe, I promise, you will do great. And there are others to help you when you need it. All you need to do is call. I’ll be at the ready. You’ll be wonderful.”
