Nicky Twigs and Toads💙🕷️🕸️ Debbie Carroll Exactly! It’s all about the culture of the care home & recognising the value of time outside. The one w roaming chickens & open doors sounds wonderful!
But plastic lawns & no access is so sad. We need homes to see that the benefits far outweigh the risks for mobility & wellbeing
Anna Park Debbie Carroll Yes! A Council run care home a relative had short stay in was amazing. Chickens wandering around and residents feeding them. Doors wide open. In another, if living upstairs absolutely no access to outdoors unless accompanied by relative. If living downstairs, plastic lawn.
Nicolle Mitchell🏳️🌈 Debbie Carroll Yes my mental health wld suffer instantly w no access to the outdoors. I’d like to see a future where the right to spend time outside is embedded in our #care . I was a big fan of The Abbeyfield Society’s pre-covid ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ programme by April Dobson abbeyfield.com/blog/we-are-na…
Step into Spring at our next RAIN session on 14th May at 2pm
Being outside is good for all of us so Why don’t we go into the garden?
