'President Biden claimed, inaccurately, to have seen photos of beheaded babies'. What is the journalistic value of employing language that suggests Biden was merely mistaken about what he saw, rather than the truth- that he was deliberately lying about what he saw?

For the record, Israel killed 63 Palestinians in Gaza in the last 24 hours.

In any other context, that’s a horrific & unspeakable massacre. But in the context of Israel’s genocide, that’s apparently “low intensity.”

Israel attacks Lebanon, Israel attacks Syria, Israel slaughters Gazans, terrorises and murders thousands of Palestinians, Israel attacks an Iranaian embassy, but Western governments say Iran should de-escalate tensions. Fucking joke.

Five months ago Dr. Ghassan Abu-Sittah was prominently featured on this episode of The New York Times podcast The Daily describing the situation on the ground in Gaza. Today he was reportedly denied entry to Germany at the airport. He was supposed to give a lecture.

Israel bombed the Iranian consulate in Syria assassinating multiple senior Iranian officials & we're supposed to believe that it's Iran drawing 'the Middle East into a wider conflict' & should 'work to de-escalate and prevent further attacks'. An insult to people's intelligence.

Why is the whole west precondemning a potential Iranian response but didn't say a word when Israel bombed an embassy? The hypocrisy never fails to astound.

“What do you have here?”
“My little brother Ahmed.”

Al Jazeera’s Youmna El Sayed recollects the moment when a little boy of about 11 years old, brought his dead baby brother - Ahmed - to a hospital in Khan Younis in a blue backpack.

The boy was dishevelled, bruised, and looked…

Does anyone think The New York Times or BBC News (World) would come up with less passive headlines and more direct language if their journalists were in Gaza? That having them there would not simply allow them to spin their bias as 'reporting from the ground'?

We must reject the idea that Western media has been spoonfeeding us Israeli narratives because they can't get into Gaza and have no idea what is going on there. It is rubbish. They have been at the forefront of justifying and defending a genocide and now want to claim ignorance.

This right here is the problem with the idea of 'foreign correspondents' and 'international journalists' (almost invariably synonyms for Westerners) who think they possess superpowers of 'independence' and 'objectivity' that are beyond the capabilities of uncivilised natives.

Israeli forces continues to murder Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

Under international law Palestinians have every right to resist their occupiers, and that includes armed resistance.

There's rarely been a more extraordinary military failure as 'operation prosperity guardian', it's almost unbelievable.
