It’s curious the National Post uses a picture of a falling TSX to illustrate investment is fleeing Canada.
During the last Conservative govt the TSX composite went from 12080.53 to 13790.07, or a tepid 1.4% a year.
Under the current govt it went from 13665 to 22468 or 7.1% a

The UCP economy is leaving Albertans behind. AB is the only province where inflation increases faster than pay.👇

Affordability is getting worse & AB wage advantage dissipates.

Smith fails to mention for the second consecutive year of her Premiership AB GDP per capita will go down, also:
-AB has highest inflation
-Highest unemployment west of Maritimes
-Second slowest wage growth

It’s a dismal economic record.

Remember when the Ethics Commissioner found that Danielle Smith had breached the Conflicts of Interest Act?

Smith didn’t like that very much.

In case anyone doubts whether this appointment was intended to be as partisan it appears, UCP committee member Angela Pitt said she is “looking forward to Shawn McLeod’s integrity in this office and standing up against the political partisan attacks that the NDP has used this

The UCP appointed AESO board chair (UCP member and donor) demanded the CEO of AESO lie👇, in doing so putting partisan interests above public/fiduciary responsibilities.

How will the UCP member/donor ethics commissioner be any different?

Who will tell you that your government killed Alberta’s renewables boom? I will. The developer of the project you’re referring to.

The National Post and UCP leaks are trying to paint Nenshi as too right wing for the NDP leadership.

They’ll regret this if he wins when they inevitably try and paint him as an extreme Marxist minion of Singh in 2027. All these talking pts will haunt them.

Calgary housing since Smith took office in Oct 22 (20 months ago)
Average house price ⬆️20% ($608,000)
Average rent ⬆️17% ($1,695)
Average AB Wage ⬆️3%

If combining the biggest hikes in housing costs in the country with some of the lowest wage hikes is keeping things affordable

Argument re: municipal voting rights.
If I were a non-citizen and put my kid in the local charter school, the province allows me to vote for the board (not all charters have votes, my local one does).👇
Province disallows me from voting for public school board under the same

Smith is being dishonest👇Calgary DIDN’T “attempt to alter election laws” They, along with other AB munis were voting on whether to ask the province to consider changing the law .

There is no jurisdiction issue and Smith knows it.

Alberta major project spending underway in April 2024:
O&G production: $3.1B
Solar Energy: $2.2B
Wind: $1.8B

These were wind projects in progress before the moratorium due to which this spending will dry up (along with thousands of jobs).
