Powder-blue Surgeonfish, Acanthurus leucosternon. An important grazer on the reef and is seen mostly solitary and defends its territory. However, it can also form large schools and swim around devouring algae on the reef.

Hawksbill Turtle, Eretmochelys imbricata is the most common species of turtle seen in the Maldivian waters. It is classified as critically endangered by the IUCN.
