The still life by Pieter Claesz is so packed with luxurious goods that this special cup barely stands out. It is a nautilus cup, which were popular in Germany, The Netherlands and Flanders.

The Three Peaks. I’ve climbed these hills, travelled through the caves beneath them and heard their stories. For example, Gearstones Pot is home to a nest of fairies. I once met two caving photographers who’d been “persuaded” out of the cave by the little people.

A very early piece I did. I drew the initial sketch with my left hand (I'm right-handed). An exercise in trying to draw like a child again. I enlarged it and traced it exactly as drawn onto a board. Looking back at it now, I do like the naivety.

'Half Each' in private collection
