After a brief upset at the release of a bombshell review eviscerating international standards and laying bare a scandal mostly affecting LGB youth, the blanket of 'both sides' descends to smother any sense of culpability, sweep it under the rug, and restore the status quo.

To suggest the perpetrators of over 2000 rapes in Scotland in 22/23 didn't know they were raping women is, in itself, deeply, deeply misogynistic. You can't fight violence against women and girls with this level of contempt for them! (PS No one is born a woman or a trans woman.)

It took itself very seriously and conducted an independent review over 4 years with transparent terms of reference, methodology, an interim report and a final report. So yes, please do take it that seriously.
