They're generally awful, and I think one of the things spiking them is that

1) to be allowed to participate in community notes you have to have had no flags for hate or abusive behaviour
2) If you say 'c1s' on twitter you will be flagged for hate or abusive behaviour.

For some reason, it's always biased if 'trans ideologues' are allowed to run trans healthcare, but if openly anti-trans ideologues are allowed to run trans healthcare it's okay. Funny eh.

The refusal to allow patients, especially minors, to hold boundaries and not be intruded on, is a key safeguarding issue.

We need for child safeguarding to be put first in these services. Currently the idea of patients or patient advocates pushing back against bad care is seen as 'ideological' or obstructing the 'curiosity' of the clinician. But actually patients deserve reasonable boundaries.

A lot of people idealise being a young transitioner because of supposed advantages passing but you're also risking going through a very abusive psychiatric system run these days mostly by decent people, but often mixed with lying evil fucks who get off on fucking with kids minds.

Genuinely one of the hard things about tsn research is how much this stuff continues to be close to the bone and finding ways to navigate around stuff that's too directly related to my own experiences and pass it on to other people.

This sort of crankery is unfortunately widespread too outside of Finland. I had a shrink my parents sent me to see at 15 say the same thing. It's awful talking to an older adult about things that are painful and then they start telling you you should be having sex you don't want

And if you experience abusive treatment, make a complaint. If the complaint is ignored, escalate it to the ombudsman. The NHS apparently won't fire folks involved in outright conversion therapy organisations but you don't have to accept treatment from them.
