If you are heading into the forest for a shady woodland walk we recommend you take plenty of water and protect yourself from the sun! We’re also reminding visitors that BBQs and fires are banned in the #NewForest. 🌳☀️ #BringAPicnicNotABBQ

It's #BogDay and we are celebrating the mosaic of bogs, mires & wetlands across the #NewForest. They play a really important role for nature - providing homes & feeding grounds for wildlife, supporting many plant species, and helping to manage the impact of flooding & droughts.

#Ticks can attach themselves to people & animals when brushing past long grasses & vegetation which is why we advise people to dress appropriately & keep to the main tracks. You can pickup a Lyme Disease UK leaflet from our #NewForestShow stand. ✔️ #BeTickAware #NewForest #LymeDisease

We are lucky here to have some of the rarest lowland heath in western Europe and we are working on restoring and protecting them. #Heathlands provide home to many rare species, such as sand lizard, nightjar & silver-studded blue butterfly. 🦎🐦🦋 #HeathWeek #NewForest

#ForestFactFriday Did you know boggy areas of the #NewForest are vital habitats for some of England’s rarest plants? The #sundew's leaves have a sticky lure that closes around its prey, digesting and extracting all the minerals it needs from insects. 📷 Beck Sheehan

Our team have just replaced another of our 284 #NewForest bridges. Completely rebuilt with New Forest timber the bridge at Linford links to our car park and gives access for local residents. It follows a major upgrade to the car park & tracks here earlier this year. #OurWork

Rowan trees (Sorbus aucuparia), also known as mountain ash, are looking stunning at the moment. The large clusters of bright reddish orange fruit will ripen over the coming weeks and provide food for many birds. ❤️🌳 #RowanTree #NewForest #SorbusAucuparia
