Sadly having a number of these conversations with some of our newly qualified paramedics. Trying to tell them the good aspects of the job, but they can’t see it as all they’ve known since being a student/qualifying is being ran into the ground, delays, awful rostering etc

So, after working for 49yrs as a nurse in #OurNHS I’m greedy, uncaring, selfish, Marxist, militant, & in the wrong job! If only I’d realised this all those years ago, I might have found myself in a better financial position. Nice to know what the British public actually think!

Just finished a row of 5 shifts, I now have 5 days off in which I need to write a 1500 word essay and fit in a trip to Devon for a family wedding - feel brain dead just thinking about it.

Today we remember Paramedic Alice Clark who tragically died a year ago today. Our thoughts remain with her family and friends. Gone but never forgotten… 💚

Back to Portsmouth after a month away from uni and placement, instead working full time at the hospital. Back on the road Thursday 🚑

12 hour bank shift working in MRI after finishing my row of placement shifts. No time in between to do a food shop, thought I’d buy lunch at work, nope. Both shops are closed there is literally nowhere for me to get a or make a hot drink let alone food. Problem with retention? Hm

So far this morning from NHS111… A blue light emergency for a “dry mouth”, & another blue light emergency for a terminal patient with nausea 🤷🏻‍♂️ Both advised. I just don’t get what the description “Emergency Ambulance” means anymore… 🚑💨 I’m all for pathways but 🤦🏻‍♂️ #NHSCrisis

Ring a patients GP on behalf of a patient... None available as they've all left for the day. Ring OOH GP line, won't take our call for half an hour because the GPs are still open. 🤦‍♂️ Why do we make things so difficult for ourselves and our patients...
