The committee before exploring free visas should explore allegations of fraud and corruption on the VFS deal. Without that, there is no free visa, tourists still have to pay processing fee to VFS. It’s a waste of time using committees to distract from the real issue.

VFS is justifying fees of 25.77 USD per arrival on the basis of staff salaries, data protection and tourism promotion for Sri Lanka in other countries. How exactly will VFS involved in backend operations elsewhere promote Sri Lanka? Any coordination with SL tourism promotions?
