I'm listening to Jason Benetti call today's Tigers-Rangers game and I keep thinking:

How on earth did the White Sox let this guy get away?

Just inconceivable.

A major sports story coming (The Athletic has great women's basketball/other writers who will be on it):

The WNBA's current TV deals with ESPN, CBS, Amazon and Ion run out after 2025 season.

If the ESPYs can appear on ABC in primetime on Thursday night, the women's college basketball national semifinals (which drew viewership numbers this year the ESPYs can only dream of) can absolutely air on ABC in a long Friday window.

We're in the middle of a massive cultural moment in the United States with women's basketball. As someone who covered it for years and is really invested in it, I'm going to tweet about it.

Follow-up: ESPN added the attribution for Sports Media Watch. Respect that. Heard one of their PR execs bill hofheimer took it upon himself to make it right so a shoutout to him.

Here is some remarkable data from Canada regarding the 2024 WNBA Draft:

The 2023 WNBA Draft drew 17,000 viewers on Canadian television (TSN).

The 2024 WNBA Draft drew 140,000 viewers.

That is a +723.5% increase.

I've always said Maya Moore is the best women's basketball player I covered. Read what Cheryl Reeve said here and then check out the YouTube clip.
