Today is Flowers of Remembrance.
Members of the public are invited to place a flower at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Flowers will be provided by the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation. Visitors should not bring their own flowers.

Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.

Marine Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider and I served together in 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment. News reports said he survived one bomb attack near his base in Afghanistan's Helmand Province but was killed a month later by another on June 30, 2011. #MemorialDayWeekend
