Happy birthday to my wonderful Ruth Ruth Swailes . It’s the strangest of birthday’s - I’m stuck in here and she’s having to visit me when it should be me making a fuss of her.

My hero- Ruth Swailes I honestly don’t know how she keeps going looking after everything at home and keeping me going while I’m in hospital. I truly could not cope without her.

Thank you so much for all of your kind birthday messages. I’ve hardly changed at all. Ruth’s not sure whether to pursue a career in balloon modelling. It now says Happy birthday Pet- I am from Newcastle though so that’s fine.

An update- not one of my best weeks. Fingers crossed that next week will be better following chemo.

Back home - very good though it was in the hospital, there’s nothing like being at home with my people. Shattered, in some pain and uncomfortable but so glad to be here.

David Sockney’s making a trip out to the hospital - my youngest packed a bag for visiting but because my covid test had got lost or something they, Ruth and her, couldn’t visit. Miss them so much. Socks remind me of St Ives trip and happier times.

Thank you for all the good wishes - here are some snazzy socks. I don’t feel too bad in myself at the moment.

Thank you for all of your kind words - I really appreciate them. I wasn’t expecting it but they have kept me in for observations tonight.

I’ve not been too well over the past week but I think we are starting to get on top of my pain relief again. I love Spring and daffodils they always make things seem so full of hope. A glass vase I made for Ruth Swailes ‘s grandma years ago.

This popped upon my Facebook memories- some scenery I painted for school a few years ago - I doing things like this. It’s not me with the hair putting it up.

Here are a few of the finished ‘school values’ created by the kids here at Clapham Terrace They’ve had a great time and enjoyed every stage. I’ve had fun too, they were lovely to be around. 😊

Getting hold of prescription medication isn’t always straightforward. Our pharmacy is wonderful but supply issues still impact. It’s an additional stress on top of terminal illness and takes up lots of time. Be kind to carers, because it can be bloomin exhausting and frustrating.

Properly soft socks today - had a very lazy day following a very bad night’s sleep. Hoping to have a good one tonight - pretty determined to try getting some pots glazed tomorrow and get the kiln fired in Thursday. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
